Plot

Hermes Press adds another important title to its classic comic book and comic strip reprints with Brenda Starr, Reporter: The Collected Daily and Sunday Strips. Created by Dale Messick, the first woman to create, draw, and write a syndicated newspaper strip, Brenda Starr successfully mixed romance, fashion, and adventure into one of the longest running features in newspaper history, and the reprint volumes begin with the strip's debut on June 30, 1940.

Este tomo ha sido una agradable sorpresa: el guión es dinámico y enormemente imaginativo, y a diferencia de otras ediciones de Hermes Press, el repintado digital de las dominicales no es total, en cada página ha sobrevivido de un 60 a un 40 % del color original, con sus tramas. Lamentablemente, parece que no está planeado como una colección completa de la tira. El primer tomo incluye: las primeras dominicales publicadas en el suplemento "Comic Book" adjunto al Chicago Tribune (del 30 de junio de 1940 al 20 de abril de 1941). Luego incluye un episodio reproducido casi íntegramente desde los originales (del 10 de setiembre de 1944 al 14 de enero de 1945). Y finalmente una historia con tiras diarias y dominicales integradas, desde el 22 de octubre de 1945 al 24 de febrero de 1946.
