Plot

Fashionable and upbeat high schooler Aya falls head over heels for an employee at a local CD shop. He’s got an air of mystery about him, always dressed well, and has impeccable taste in music. Little does she know—this supposedly male employee is actually her female classmate Mitsuki! Mitsuki generally keeps to herself, but since her seat is right next to Aya’s, she can't help but be extremely aware of the other’s crush. Revealing the truth is out of the question—but perhaps getting closer to Aya wouldn’t be so bad...

This is quite LITERALLY my favorite GL of all time. The story is so relevant to today’s youth, as it’s set in 2023 and has many pop culture references to current slang and niches. There is so much discussion on self-expression, how unconventional interests bond people from opposite backgrounds, and navigating identity and emotions in a modern way. This story reminds me of myself in high school and navigating my expression and queer experiences, and I think this story would have helped my younger self SO much. Seeing the perspective of both MCs and seeing how they process their own struggles with their identity and feeling of belonging is so refreshing. Both MCs realize their own attraction at different paces and in very different ways, it feels so natural and is realistic to many experiences me and many other queer people I know have had in our own lives. IF I COULD GIVE THIS TEN STARS OUT OF FIVE, I WOULD. READ IT!!!! <3 <3 <3
