Holy West

Plot

Holy West is an adaptation of the quest for the Holy Grail. It's loosely based on Parzival, but draws from all of chivalric romance, from Grail stories which involved pursuing the highest spiritual ideal: compassion. It's also a love letter to Westerns, to those cowboys and gunslingers who are the American equivalent of Britain's Arthurian knights.

Holy West explores the bloody history of the frontier and how we made it a Wasteland. The West is where the American soul was forged, for better or worse. At the same time, we drape a veil of magic over the West, just as medieval romance mythologized British history.
