Plot

En Europa, mucho antes de que los periódicos estadounidenses estandarizaran una nueva forma de tira cómica basada en los globos de texto o bocadillos, el ginebrino Rodolphe Töpffer (1799-1846) fue el primero en crear lo que dio en llamar "literatura en estampas". Sus historias, surrealistas e ingeniosas, cosecharon gran éxito y fueron elogiadas por figuras tan notables y dispares como Goethe, John Ruskin, Alfred Jarry, Jean Cocteau o Le Corbusier. La presente edición recoge la casi totalidad de las historias ("Histoire de Mr. Jabot","Histoire de Mr. Crepin", "Monsieur Pencil", "Le Docteur Festus", "Histoire d'Albert", "Les amours de Mr. Vieux Bois") de este autor fundamental de la historia del arte y el cómic, reivindicado por historietistas tan destacados como Chris Ware o Art Spiegelman.
