Between 1978 and 1996, 2000AD produced 19 Summer Specials (or Sci-Fi Specials). They contained a mix of new comic strips, reprint strips, articles and movie photo features.

The title was revived in 2014 by current 2000AD publisher Rebellion. The title has switched publishers a number of times. First 10 issues were published by IPC Magazines Ltd. Issues 11-19 were published by Fleetway Issues 2014- are published by Rebellion
