Animal Man Vol. 1 (1988-1995)

Plot

Animal Man was an ongoing Vertigo comic series starring Animal Man. Initially a four-issue miniseries, its successful sales led to it being expanded into an ongoing title, in which writer Grant Morrison transformed the book into an innovative and surreal story in which Morrison themself appeared in the comic, and Animal Man gained cosmic awareness. The title was widely celebrated, and after Morrison's run concluded, it was taken over by writers Peter Milligan, Tom Veitch, Jamie Delano, and Jerry Prosser.
