La etapa completa de Ennis, más de 40 números, logra mantener un nivel realmente alto, sobre todo en los dos tomos intermedios. A ello ayuda un soberbio Steve Dillon, que firma uno de sus mejores trabajos y, sin duda, estas son sus mejores páginas para Hellbalzer. En estos cuatro tomos, vemos la evolución (a mejor) de Will Simpson, intuimos al Sean Phillips que vendrá y disfrutamos del gran David Lloyd. Aunque Ennis se desvía ligeramente del Constantine que creó Delano, es una etapa muy recomendable.
