Mahiro Maeda, renowned for his work with Studio Khara, the production company behind Rebuild of Evangelion, celebrated his 60th anniversary last year. This long-awaited first art book showcases his prolific career, which spans not only animation but also live-action films. His impressive portfolio includes Gunbuster, the Heisei Gamera Trilogy, the Evangelion series, Mad Max: Fury Road, and Shin Godzilla. His contributions range from design, art direction, and costumes, with his influence extending both domestically and internationally. This collection gathers a wide array of materials, from concept sketches created during the initial planning stages to intermediary works produced during development and large-scale illustrations. With over 100 works, including previously unreleased pieces, and featuring approximately 30 projects, the book comprehensively chronicles and preserves Mahiro Maeda's career.
