Plot

Four friends enter into an intimate relationship, but what happens when one is the odd man out? A loving couple aboard a ferris wheel that has a history of breaking up couples. Will their bond break the cycle? And an heir to a family dynasty tosses aside his duty and runs away with his true love, but what happens when those decisions come back to bit him once he returns home. These are a few stories that take up the eclectic twelve chapter gambit that is Hanaharu Naruco’s Shoujo Material.

Naruco's career began in 2002 with the release of his first work, “Hitai” ("Forehead"), in Wani Magazine’s Comic Kairakuten magazine. Celebrated for his realistically drawn characters and vivid backgrounds, his greatest success was the release of Shoujo Material in 2008. Shoujo Material went on to not only be the highest selling adult manga of 2008, but at the time, went on to be the highest selling adult manga of all time.

Outside of the adult market, Naruco has found mainstream success with the manga adaptation of Kamichu! and was the character designer of the 2013 anime Gargantia on the Verdurous Planet.
