Kangkangee Blues

Plot

Kankangee Blues is a large format, full colour romance comic produced in collaboration with the Kankangee Arts Village in Busan, South Korea.

A largely silent, vibrantly coloured bittersweet tale of lost love and hard times set in the bustling shipyard district of Yeongdo.

With help from the Lakes Festival, the British Council and Arts Council Korea, this is the best my work has ever been printed, and definitely one of my favourite projects. Every panel bears the imprint of two heady weeks of visual research and exploration.and months of drawing. It's a love letter to Busan.
