The Preliminary Strange Death is a 120-page oversized book, presenting for the first time in print the preliminary artwork of Dave Sim. This [NOW FULL COLOR] volume is stuffed with preliminary and in-progress artwork for both STRANGE DEATH and the STRANGE DEATH-related sequences for glamourpuss, presented as close to at-size as possible. This is a limited-availability, supplemental book, the same dimensions as STRANGE DEATH — 8.25" x 12", so it will fit comfortably on the shelf next to the finished book. As Sim's artwork increased in compositional complexity, Sim's tracing paper work became increasingly vital to his process, enabling him to reposition figures and even parts of figures to adjust his compositions and body language without having to redraw each time. These images give critical insight into the artist's interlocking drawing and design processes.
