EarthWorks is a window into the life of Anne and Barry, a young couple exiled from Dublin and trying to hack a small life for themselves from the stony soil of deepest rural Ireland.

Life is quiet there amongst the hills and hedgerows, especially during the pandemic, but they soon find that no matter where you dig it’s all too easy to uncover things that were best left buried. As the cloying soil is turned, ancient secrets are revealed, and soon the deepest darkest parts of Barry’s past are unearthed too. Some things should just never see the clear light of day.

A rural horror comic with its roots reaching deep into the ancient history of Ireland. Some of those myths are real, you only need to know where to look for them.

This story came about after Alfie texted Martin during the first COVID lockdown, suggesting that they work on a new comic together, if nothing else it would be something to occupy themselves with during that eerie, awful time. They soon set about it, and EarthWorks is the result.
