Plot

The creator is telling the story of the loss of her own mother, a difficult and demanding woman, and the strains it places on the individual family members. It is not told in any maudlin manner but rather in an everyday, matter-of-fact way which best describes this all-too-common situation. The cartoon-like depiction of the characters helps remove it from the specific and opens it up to anyone facing the possible demise of a parent.
