Bacilieri belongs to a world in the past, yellowed, out of print, but his undead style leaves him free to tell some unexplained romances. There is the love of a homosexual for an organic ball with a female voice, reminiscent of the eroticism of the shapeless from Charles Burns… And there’s a love story between Jesus and his followers, both apostles and women that went to visit him after his death and found the empty tomb. Bacilieri whispers to us the connection between these two stories without explaining it to us: love “will take you where you don’t want to go”.
