Plot
“St. Swithin had been buried among the poor in the common churchyard [of Winchester Cathedral]…beneath the feet of passers-by and rain from the eaves. When the monks moved his grave inside to a shrine in the Cathedral, he wept in protest and it rained for forty days.”
It had always rained on St. Swithin’s day for as far back as the boy could remember. It had been on St. Swithin’s day that they had buried his father, those years ago, and it was raining then too. As a matter of fact, it seemed like it had been raining most of the boy’s life.
After nineteen years of life, the boy decided that this St. Swithin’s would be different. He’d had enough rain. He didn’t want to live anymore. And he had a gun.
He was going to shoot the prime minister of England
