Plot
Origin Sub-Mariner (by Bill Everett; 1st 8 pages were produced for Motion Picture Funnies Weekly # 1). Intro Human Torch (by Carl Burgos), Kazar the Great (1st Tarzan clone), the Angel (by Paul Gustavson), the Masked Ranger and his horse Lightning, and Jungle Terror (only appearance). 2-page text story, "Burning Rubber" (by Raymond Gill). Cover by science fiction pulp illustrator Frank R. Paul. 64 pages. FURTHER OVERSTREET NOTES: Most copies have a black circle stamped over the cover date (on the cover and inside) with "November" printed over it. However, some copies do not have the November overprint. Most No. 1 issues have printing defects, I.e. title pages which caused the trimming into the panels, usually on the right side and bottom. Covers exist with and without gloss finish.
