Plot
Jan van Scorel was one of the first artists who traveled to Italy from the Northern Netherlands. In 1522 he was at request of the Dutch Pope Adrian VI curator of the Vatican art collection. Scorel got inspired in Rome by the art of his illustrious colleagues Michelangelo and Raphael.
Artist Paul Teng and writer Jan Paul Schutten made a comic book.based on historical facts.
A pinch of fiction is not lacking. When the pope dies in 1523, Scorel put questioned by the mysterious sudden death. He goes to investigate to discover who is behind the murder of his friend Adrian; the exciting plot in the comic. The reader gets a tail of the iconoclasm in Utrecht and a glimpse at the Vatican in the 16th century, the required intrigue and conspiracy and even a romance.
