This is Emilie Gleason's North American debut, a work that pokes fun at religion and the hegemony of American cartooning institutions, all in a loose, immersive style. Gleason's use of familiar pop culture and christian iconography provides a wealth of history and context in which to engage in her unique brand of absurdist storytelling, which can veer from the scatalogical to the intellectual in a matter of pages.
