Plot
The knights of Kelodia are the finest in the land, but they’ve never faced a POWER like the one that resides in the Green Valley. Now they're about to embark on the adventure of a lifetime—to stop a wizard and slay his dragons—but there's no such thing as magic or dragons…is there? Eisner-nominated writer MAX LANDIS (Chronicle, Superman: American Alien), artist GIUSEPPE CAMUNCOLI (Amazing Spider-Man) and Eisner-nominated colorist JEAN FRANCOIS BEAULIEU welcome you to the world of GREEN VALLEY…where nothing is ever what it seems.

Sometimes I just want to get into both, an appealing story (The Middle Ages being one of my choices for Historical Comics) with such enticing book design (IMAGE knows how to catch your attention with well-done DeLuxe HCs). GREEN VALLEY fullfilled these expectations. On the written side, Landis introduces a typical SPRITE whose charismatic people link in a tailor-made, centuries-old scenario. But, things start changing as Fantasy, prolepsis, solecism (and a high dose of beautiful madness) seize the whole narrative. Purest U-Turn regarding a plot in years. Time travels and technological devices are mingled too. Once you accept all of his ingredients, Max's recipe will relish each in every reader -as much as I did. On the visuals, Camuncoli shines throughout the complete compilation: crafted outfits, intrincate panoramic panels, B&F transitions... Helped by a great Rathburn ink work and Beaulieu's astonishing colour palette (gradients were applied in a BD-esque way). #END📚RSEDperusal🕯
