Meet Paul Lincoln: dedicated Metropolis police officer, loving husband and father... and witness to the major events of DC Universe history, from the rise of Golden Age Heroes like the Justice Society of America to the fall of Batman and Superman.

In the streets of Metropolis' Suicide Slum, a young Paul witness firsthand how these new costumed heroes are making the world a better place. As a young beat cop, Paul watches helplessly as reporter Lois Lane seemingly plummets to her doom... only to be rescued by the strange visitor from another planet known as Superman. And when the Earth's greatest heroes stand united against a cosmic Crisis that threatens to end reality itself, what can Paul do but follow their example and stand on the frontlines, helping in any way he can?

Even as the world seems to turn darker and heroes succumb to villains or their own demons, Paul never stops believing in the super-heroes he's always looked up to. His story is the story of the entire DC Universe.
