Plot
When Koume and Keisuke’s relationship begins to take shape, it is apparent that they are both searching for something. Maybe Keisuke wants something more than a kiss from the fair Koume. Maybe Koume is looking for someone better than Misaki, the local playboy. But what they find in each other over the course of a summer might be far greater than anything they were expecting.
Their lives are going to change. And this will all transpire before high school exams!
From the Eisner Award-nominated Inio Asano, creator of Solanin and Nijigahara Holograph, comes one of his most challenging works yet; an intense teen romance set in what may at first glance be one of the sleepiest places in Japan.

themes: coming of age, sexual discovery, adolescence, bullying, suicidal thoughts, parenting, toxic relationships, violence. This volume was interesting, snd my first encounter with Asano’s work The book describes a pov of the adolescence experience. there is a lot of very explicit sexual encounters between the protagonists, not sure that was necessary to the point of the book and maybe intentional to make the reader uncomfortable, the drawing is compelling and certainly does a great job almost in a cinematographic way. It has a somewhat open ending which make think that I am not sure about the whole point of the story. and maybe that was also intentional. Did not find the characters relatable but realistic. It is rated 18+ while the characters are probably about 15. There is no comedy or romance so i considered it a bit of a heavy read somewhat inconclusive where you are left with more questions than answers
