En 1982, Paul Levitz y Keith Giffen se convirtieron en guionista y dibujante, respectivamente, de Legion of Super-Heroes. Con ellos comenzó una etapa que no tardaría en conocerse como el punto álgido de la serie. Esta edición incluye, además de un epílogo del propio Paul Levitz, un vistazo a la historia de la Legión a principios de los años ochenta. Y también diseños de Keith Giffen y George Pérez.
