El número empieza muy plano con una inverosímil pelea de "Flecha Negra" contra cuatro tigres. Sin embargo, en cuanto volvemos a los barcos en los que están John, Roderick o "Penacho Negro", sube el nivel. Además, termina con un cliffhanger de manual en la subtrama más folletinesca de las varias que hay.
