Lois roba una noticia a Clark sobre un dique que se resquebraja, enviándole a cubrir una historia falsa. El karma actúa y el dique se rompe, siendo la vida de Lois amenazada por la tromba de agua resultante. Superman la salva sacándola del vehículo atrapado y Lois le confiesa su amor tras el rescate. Tras volver a su identidad como Clark, encuentra el desprecio de Lois, que en estos primeros compases resulta absolutamente hiriente.
