El tomo es de lectura fácil pero a la historia le falta un poco para alcanzar el nivel de las anteriores. Los secundarios tienen mucha menos enjundia que en otras aventuras y ninguno tiene la chispa del Dr. Pattum, Arnau, el Pigat o la familia Gisbert. Además, el elemento sobrenatural que hay en Pagui-Pagui no le sienta bien a la serie, que hasta ahora había tenido muchas aventuras y mucha fantasía, pero nada realmente tan fuera de lo normal.
