This is one of the comics my brother had so it’s one of the earliest comics I ever looked at, a few panels stuck with me, but I think moreso my love of American’s mythical figures comes from this. It’s a great anniversary issue, that has NEVER BEEN FOLLOWED UP ON???? The first story is by far the strongest. It’s eerie and interesting and spooky and just awesome comics kids. The WWII one is a little undercooked, but clearly designed to feel like Lee/Kirby story. The U.S.Agent story is the biggest dissapointment to me. It just feels like a “here’s what happened so far” but it is an interesting character study I guess The Red Skull story I used to have nightmares about. And why. OH WHY. Did U.S. Agent and RED SKULL get a story but BUCKY doesn’t get a solo story? It’s bullshit. Glad that wouldn’t fly nowadays.
