Fucking love this series. Cant believe it’s not more highly touted. In a way it’s a huge event told on a very small scale which I really love. Mignola’s art is what really makes this sing. Some of the writing feels a little early superhero “I’m speaking out loud the things that I’m currently doing so you kids understand what’s going on” but it’s still fun. For some reason, and it’s not even a panel I included, since I just did the big splashes, but the panels of John Stewart walking away and cursing himself for being arrogant and killing a whole planet are sticking with me, very cinematic and simple. You can see why Del Toro brought Mignola on to help with Hellboy (besides the fact that it’s HIS Hellboy) very interesting last page, never seen something like that.
