By the year 1977, when The Cold War was in full swing, DC enlisted Conway & García López for a team-up story including The Manhattan Project, Supes and WW. Conceived as (and for) a Giant-Size single comic book, this remastered Treasury Hardback makes justice to the iconic battle between them. Such tabloid format is simply a win-win. Not only regarding the fabulous José Luis' Art. Gerry benefits from the bigger pages too, since his narration gets clearer and more structured now. Kind of a good-old, sweet Pulp mess, the writing presents nazis, robots, Kent and Prince fighting each other... Along with Roosevelt and Einstein!! Our superheroes' typical attitudes turned out to be crucial for understanding the military conflict thoroughly. But the icing on the cake is GL's drawings. His anatomy and composition expertise truly elevates the proposed scenario. Such a Fine Master (not recognized enough), he gives many Beaut double-page spreads away. These striking, detailed backgrounds are EPIC!
