Plot
When the sun sets in the city of Manila, don’t you dare make a wrong turn and end up in that dimly- lit side of the metro, where blood-sucking aswang run the most-wanted kidnapping rings, where gigantic kapre are the kingpins of crime, and magical engkantos slip through the cracks and steal your most precious possessions. Me pillé este cómic a través del Previews sin tener ninguna referencia previa, pero atraído por su premisa, y me alegra decir que esta vez no me ha fallado el instinto. Alexandra Trese, la prota, es una investigadora de lo paranormal que recorre las calles de Manila resolviendo toda clase de casos extraños. Este tomo recopila los cuatro primeros, y la verdad que me han dejado bien sabor de boca, con esa esa mezcla entre el noir y el folclore filipino. Las historias tienen la extensión justa para engancharte, y el dibujo en blanco y negro es bastante bueno. Me ha gustado especialmente el dinamismo de las composiciones de página.Esta serie empezó a publicarse originalmente en 2005, pero no salió de Filipinas hasta hace poco, gracias a que ha contado con una versión animada en Netflix. Ya solo queda que alguna editorial se anime a traducirla al español.

Bastante entretenido y un dibujo en blanco y negro que le va muy bien a la historia. Este primer tomo se compone de varias historias cortas sin continuidad entre ellas, y tampoco sé si respetan el orden de la edición filipina original. En todo caso un cómic bastante correcto y que deja con ganas de saber más del personaje.
