Plot

Long ago, plants and animals lived in harmony...until the humans arrived. Unable to coexist with other species, humans mercilessly destroyed everything in their path, forcing fauna and flora into hiding. For hundreds of years, the world has been nothing but a vast, barren desert.

Luckily, a few pockets of nature still exist; sanctuaries of witches, extraordinary women who can hear the call of the plants. Despite their abilities, humans despise witches and blame them for the disappearance of nature.

While Pili continues her search for eden with Oak by her side, she has yet to grasp the true mercilessness of the world around her. A run-in with another traveling witch opens her eyes to the harsh reality of traveling solo. The witch, Laminala, vows to teach Pili all she needs to know about survival in a barren land. Oak keeps watch over Pili, even when her worldview needs a major adjustment. She must challenge her own beliefs before she’s ready to start her search for Eden in earnest.
