Plot
The Broons and Oor Wullie made their debuts in the Sunday Post in 1936. Through the turbulent decade that followed they brought good cheer and laughter to a nation in dire need of seeing its spirits lifted. All through the Second World War not even Hitler could stop the Broons and Oor Wullie and their unique brand of laughter. Reproduced in this book are strips from the first ten years of Broons and Oor Wullie, 1936-1946, many of which have been unseen in over fifty years. The Broons and Oor Wullie annuals began in 1939 and other than during the paper shortages of the Second World War have been published on alternate years. This year sees the publication of the latest collection of Oor Wullie's antics.
