La historia principal, 5 números, es entretenida y tiene un buen dibujo, pero ya se ha escrito muchas veces. Lo único interesante, que no novedoso, es alguna de las partes en las que Black Lightning está con Orphan, Signal y Batgirl, aunque también está llena de tópicos, en este caso de los de las películas de profesores y malos estudiantes. En cuanto a lo más flojo, está la trama de mercado negro de Markovia, puesta aquí para presentar seguramente el escenario de la nueva colección de los Outsiders. En cuanto al último número, es el típico fill-in con una historia que no pasará a la historia, pero con un dibujo y un color bastante apreciables de acuerdo con el tono de la narración.
