Plot
BATMAN: DARK KNIGHT DYNASTY presents a story that uses the Batman mythos as a foundation but includes dynamic interpretations and plot twists to create a truly unique experience. This century-spanning epic introduces the reader to three different Dark Knights from the 14th century to the year 2500. The original Batman is a holy knight named Joshua Wainwright. During the Crusades, Wainwright takes on the guise of a bat and becomes the sworn enemy of the villainous immortal Vandal Savage. As the tale continues after Wainwright's demise, his descendants take the mantle of the bat and dedicate their lives to battling the undying Savage.

Un tomo muy variado ya que este Elseworlds tiene tres parte muy diferenciadas: Dark Past (en la época de las cruzadas), Dark Present y Dark Future (en 2500 dC). Además de los saltos temporales, cada parte cuenta con equipos artísticos diferentes, de los que el mejor para mí es el primero, con la pintura de Scott Hampton que le va como anillo al dedo a la historia, que tiene un toque de espada y brujería. La parte del presente es la más floja en mi opinión, y la del futuro tiene el atractivo de contar con un Robin muy especial, sacado directamente de El Planeta de los Simios. La historia tiene los típicos problemas de la narración episódica-temporal: entre época y época ¿qué pasa?
