A new era for Earth's Mightiest Heroes begins by moving Hydro-Base into New York Harbor, so the Avengers' headquarters will be closer to the big city! But shortly after the relocation, a former avenger sends a distress call to the new team! The cry for help is from Starfox (holding the cosmic staff of Firelord)! Apparently while chasing Nebula through the galaxies, the Son of Mentor and the former herald of Galactus ran into an unstoppable foe called Super-Nova! Alerted to the situation, the Avengers blast off into outer space on the FF's rocket ship to search for the so-called last Son of Xandar! Thanks to Starfox's directions, Mr. Fantastic quickly locates an old Xandarian spaceship approaching Earth! Once the Avengers board the alien vessel, a horde of brain leeches attacks!
