I think this was the first issue of the Flash I’d ever read. I can see why I’ve always had an affinity for the character, and especially Wally West. This was exciting, emotional, and fun. Life can move so fast sometimes, “chunking” is what experts call it, when adults say “I woke up had breakfast, went to work, came home, watched a movie while I ate and went to bed” in that mindset, yeah it goes fast, you did four thing all day. Whereas a kid could say “I woke up and got to wear my favorite flash t shirt, then I did my best slide down the banister and had a big bowl of fruity pebbles (the best!) and read a funny joke on the back of the box and solved the maze with my fastest time yet! Etc. I try to slow my brain down sometimes, but it’s difficult once we stop hearing Santa’s sleigh bell ring if you catch my polar express ref.
