Romita empieza a despegarse de Ditko y a desarrollar su propio estilo, más elegante y armonioso, de chicas guapas y muchachos apuestos, sin descuidar ni un ápice la acción, con un gran dinamismo. Al mismo tiempo Stan Lee va alejando poco a poco a Peter de la adolescencia con importantes cambios en su vida. La serie va ganando en profundidad y en desarrollo.
