Plot

The cosmic menace known only as The Hand stands ready to erase Earth-Two from existence, a threat so great it requires the united forces of three legendary teams: the Justice League of America (Earth-One), the Justice Society of America (Earth-Two), and the Seven Soldiers of Victory. To stop total destruction, one hero must undertake a suicide mission—carrying the ultimate weapon directly into the heart of danger, repeating the sacrifice made years ago by the Soldier known as Wing. Torn between duty and survival, the heroes argue over who will go, until Red Tornado makes the choice, sacrificing himself to save all worlds. A landmark story of heroism, legacy, and the bonds between heroes across dimensions. This issue marks one of the most important and ambitious crossovers of the Bronze Age, bringing together heroes from three different eras and continuities. It features the original classic lineups and deepens the concept of the DC Multiverse established in the 1960s.
