El Silver Surfer de DeMatteis no se parece en nada al de Starlin o Frenz. El de los primeros es casi más un guerrero. Aquí es un amante, un ser que busca la plenitud y lucha contra sus limitaciones. En este tomo DeMatteis se despide con una saga que no pasará a los anales de la historia pero que se atreve a jugar con conceptos como el amor, la humanidad (para odiarla y amarla), la compasión, el perderse en el grupo renunciando a la identidad y todo bastante bien escrito. Aunque yo creo que como mínimo le sobra un número. Sigo sin acabar de creerme a Alicia enamorada de Norrin, la verdad, pero sí me creo a esa Alicia que deja de ser rehén y secundaria y se convierte en protagonista.
