Plot
Barbara Gordon’s ready for a fresh start. She’s packing her bags, crossing the bridge, and heading to Gotham’s coolest neighborhood: Burnside. And when a freak fire burns up her costume and gear, Babs has the chance to become a whole new Batgirl!
But she barely slips on her new DIY costume before Batgirl starts trending as Gotham’s first viral vigilante — and attracting a new wave of enemies who want her social-media spotlight for themselves. En este tomo el personaje y la colección hacen un cambio de rumbo, tan acusado, que, incluso justifica una renumeración de los TPBs a pesar de contener los números 35 a 40 de la colección. No obstante, cuidado, no abandona la continuidad. El resultado es un cómic diferente, para un público joven o adolescente tardío, y un ejemplo perfecto de como combinar exitosamente el mundo más actual (selfies, redes sociales), las dinámicas entre personajes (amistad, romance) y los súper héroes, con toques de humor estilo sit-com y una combinación de dibujo+color, que le va como anillo al dedo al tono de la serie. Un tomo fantástico para introducir en el personaje a nuevos lectores, y que gustará más o menos a los veteranos, según sean fundamentalistas o tolerantes con los cambios bien hechos. El único pero que le pongo es el final de la historia, que tira de un manido cliché de la ciencia ficción más clásica. Esperaba algo diferente.
