Competing with EC’s Tales from the Crypt et al, publisher Superior had the famous “Iger Shop” (who’d done all the Fiction House stories for years) crank out the weirdest, most outré stories they could think up. All in the famous “Jack Kamen-ish” style that they’d learned sold so well, even after Kamen was long gone from their staff! They also figured out skeletons, monsters and pretty girls sold books, so every cover varied that common theme for those early 1950s kids who wanted a good scare.
