Plot

For years, gentle commoner Nalyn has stood in for Nydia, the true duchess of Mathenia. Now her masquerade has led her to greater dangers than she ever imagined. Forced to leave the island paradise of Eriden to the forces of Felltower, Nalyn and crew escape the continent of Ar. Instead of gaining allies, though, they find only temporary shelter with the elves of Shielliniath, and nothing but false promise from the denizens of Maledon. Hope may yet be found across the mountains in the land of Lesazon, but can they reach it in time, and will it be enough?
