The infamous Fridging issue. This was a tough read. It’s really handled incredibly poorly. The killing of the female character for sheer inspiration for the male hero (what fringing now means) aside, the actual act of killing was terrible. There was no need for us to see the guy strangle her, especially not in a close up panel on her face. This is not Scalped, this is Green Lantern. Just felt exploitative. He gets to fuck her finally then she’s killed? It’s messed up. I understand we need to feel along with Kyle that he’s justified in killing the guy, but you could have done that without all that. Just a bad idea from start to finish this issue.
