Well. After ohhh let’s say…20 years, I’ve finally read every issue of Chris Claremont and Alan Davis’ Excalibur: The Cross-Time Caper. It’s not the longest arc, it just took a long time to gather when you have no money but refuse to read it online for free. It’s not what I was hoping for, and yet it’s exactly what I was hoping for. The arc starts very strong, with great art and a story that while it goes to very fantastical places, stays rooted in good old fashioned smart story-telling. In the middle it meanders and by the time it’s wrapping up I was ready for it to be done. Still great art, and while I lost track of characters and storylines by the end, I’m glad I finished it. I do wish it would have had a nice bow of an ending, not IMMEDIATELY have a huge new chapter start, and when it comes to Galactus, you can’t get much more huger…
