Esta aventura comienza con un salvamento tras un derrumbe en el que queda atrapado un minero. Hay una fiesta de ricachones cuyo anfitrión es el propietario de la mina. Por conveniencia del guión, se les va de las manos la farra y bajan a la mina. Les hace de guía el mismo Superman, disfrazado de trabajador de la mina. Nuestro héroe no duda en provocar otro derrumbe para dejar atrapado al grupo y así hacerle entender al dueño la importancia de la seguridad laboral. Nuevamente nos encontramos con un Superman primigenio, implicado en problemáticas sociales más mundanas. Aún quedan lejos los grandes villanos y aventuras fantásticas que llegarían en años posteriores.
