Sucker for visuals I truly am, hence JB's work on Marvel icons well deserved this magnificent AE. Including 3 full Stories, 28 legendary Covers (some Unreleased), 88 glorious Interiors, 21 appealing Scripts, a complete, assorted appendix with his lesser-known outputs and, most importantly, several ASTONISHING and GIGANTIC FOLDOUTS (the kind that blows your mind). Big John Buscema's style is sterling lyricism, fueled by robust intensity. Inspirational. An array of perpetual and unswerving SuperHero Imagery. I just adore how HE CRAFTED Namor, Thor, Silver Surfer... And The Vision (a creative effort along with Thomas). In this XXL publication, his personal annotations and pencils are distinctly enjoyable. So inks, blues and white-outs. Raw scans whose sharp reproduction here revealed The Finest Mastery In Comic Book Illustration (q.v. Jusko's preface).
