At the beginning, the man on the plane is looking at a website named "Movie Tropes", a reference to the real-life website TvTropes. The page he is looking at is called "Something on the Wings", a reference to the Science-Fiction anthology series The Twilight Zone, specifically the episode "Terror at 20,000 Feet".
