Un cómic que intenta ser más que una simple orgía de violencia, proponiendo ideas como la creación de culto en torno a Carnage o un héroe antagonista con peso emocional. No obstante, el número falla en articular esos elementos de manera satisfactoria. El guion de Torunn Grønbekk aspira a temas más complejos, pero se queda corto ante una narrativa que prioriza la acción o los enfrentamientos a veces sin coherencia interna. El arte de Pere Pérez es competente y a menudo expresivo, pero no logra aportar ese extra visceral que la historia necesitaba para justificar realmente el punto de vista del villano como protagonista. En resumen: hay destellos interesantes en la premisa, pero la ejecución general termina por sentirse irregular, dispersa y, a menudo, superficial, tanto en el guion como en la integración del arte con la historia. Hay mejores historias de Matanza que capturan mejor lo perturbador, brutal o fascinante que puede ser este personaje.
