Masterly crafted by Pérez, this 1st OB still shows what to expect regarding a Monomyth in CBs. Placed on late 80s, George's storylines are both, engaging and kicking. He knew how to cohere her ancient past at Paradise Island along with moving Prince to Boston. As a complete author, GP exposed WW as iconic as other DC Greats, building such a solid imagery. Beautifully presented, the powerful Princess of Themyscira is nothing but legendary: her genesis was purely re-created while friends and foes were re-formulated with a human touch. A whole, influential vision which updated (and enriched) Diana's lore. My favourite arc is "Challenge Of The Gods" (issues 10-13, part of the Millennium Event). Epic-fuelled thru an alluring diegesis. Panels' composition and transitions truly get you in on the action. In Annual #1, an array of marvellous pencillers embellished various tales (all written by GP): Adams, García-López, Bolland... And "Testament". A true gem from the genius himself.#BAMessential
